The Buxton Story

The beginning of a legacy...

Let's go back in time to the year 1873 to a special place about 1 hour southwest of Des Moines, Iowa.

That special place is Buxton, Iowa.

Buxton was unique in that as opposed to many places around the country, Buxton was particularly welcoming to African Americans. In fact, in 1905, a consensus found that the majority of residents in Buxton were African Americans.

As a citadel of peaceful diversity, Buxton isn't just a special place to Iowa, the Nation, or the African American community. It's also special to everyone here at Buxton Meats - and particularly to our CEO and Founder, Jeff Boone.

A purpose-driven brand

Since Jeff's first cattle venture depended heavily on a large plot of land located in the Buxton area during the earlier years, his connection to Buxton is very personal.

It's for this reason that when Jeff decided to pour his time, talent, and treasure into his next venture; a venture that would be his legacy; including the name Buxton seemed like a natural fit.

Hence, Buxton Meats was born.

This passion for the name Buxton is based on the same underlying principle of meaningful substance that is embedded into Buxton Meat's products.

Buxton is not just another catchy name, nor is it just another meat product.

Everything we do is based on purposeful foundations. Quality, consistency, faith, trust, transparency, and purpose.

Our goal is to provide mothers with meat products they can feel confident putting before their loved ones; from a brand that cares more about substance than money.

We believe these principles are lacking in the industry to a large degree; so our mission is as much a movement as it is a business - and every customer purchase advances that mission.

So if any of this resonates with you, then we invite you to see what we have offer.
